This bow exists since I happened to have an off-cut of yew from a previous commission and wondered what it’d be capable of. Turns out, a tiny little rocket! It’s super-tight grained, the colours pop, and the character shines through.
It’s not, however, a ‘premium’ bow by any means. It’s way shorter than sensible (55” nock-to-nock*); I had to plug a couple of pin clusters with filler (an aesthetic issue rather than anything else); the bottom limb has a slight scoop out of one side (imperceptible in terms of function but noticeable by eye once you've seen it); and - in an attempt to squeeze it in around other projects - I didn’t spend nearly as much time on the finishing work as I would’ve done normally. Since it’s shorter than ideal, it’s also taken more set than usual which means it isn’t quite as snappy as it would otherwise be. Those caveats out the way, it is nevertheless a splendid little bow - fast and full of character!
