Shipping

At checkout, you’ll be offered a series of shipping options along with ‘Collect in Person’.

You’re always welcome to collect any order in person and, if you wish to do so, please select this option and I’ll then be in touch to make arrangements. I’m based in Stonehouse, GL10, a few minutes drive from Junction 13 of the M5.

Alternatively, the cheapest delivery option available for your order will be selected by default.

Where possible, smaller items will be automatically bundled in with larger items. Where not possible, multiple delivery charges may apply as multiple parcels will have to be sent.

I realise there is a massive jump in price as soon as the item being posted goes over 4ft. I spent a good deal of time researching all the postage and delivery options of all major couriers and delivery services, and the UPS Oversize prices I chose to go with were the cheapest I could find that I was eligible for given the amount of business I do. Mad that it costs double the price to send a 4’1” piece of spaghetti than it does to send a 20kg, 4ft log, but there you go. For large-ticket items therefore, even if you’re a little distance away, it may well be cheaper to collect in person if you can spare the time.

Finally, I’m usually in the workshop a few days a week. I’ll always send items as soon as possible but, on occasions, this may be in a few day’s time. If your order is urgent, please contact me in advance to avoid disappointment.

postage costs

  • Smaller items (such as arrows) will be sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48 at £4.85 per order.

  • Billets are sent via ParcelForce Express 48 at £14.95 per set.

  • 4ft bows, 4ft blanks and un-spliced laminates will be sent via ParcelForce Express 48 at £12.95 per order.

  • Bows, blanks and laminates over 4ft will be sent via UPS Oversize at £29.95 per order.

  • Staves will be sent via UPS Oversized at £29.95 for the first, and an additional £20 per each additional stave.


Returns & Refunds

The ambition is always that you’re delighted with your product and service! Of course, though, things can go wrong. If something’s not right with your order, please let me know as soon as possible and I’ll do whatever I can to find a remedy.

Your purchase are, of course, also covered by The Consumer Rights Act 2015, including distance-selling legislation when purchasing through the website. With that in mind, please read and take note of the following.

For all purchases through the website, other than custom and/or bespoke items:

  • You have the right to cancel any purchase up to 14 days from receipt of the goods.

  • If you wish to cancel your order, you must give written notice via email to redstringbows@gmail.com attaching the original receipt.

  • You then have 14 days to return the goods.

  • A full refund will be issued within 14 days of receipt of the returned goods, or within 14 days of receiving proof of return, whichever is the earliest, providing the returned goods are unused and in their original condition.

  • RedStringBows may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

  • If the goods are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, the return postage will be arranged and paid for by RedStingBows. You will also be reimbursed for any postage costs paid when the original order was placed.

  • In all other cases, the return postage costs will not be arranged for and paid by RedStringBows, and neither will any postage costs paid when the original order was placed be refunded.

  • All reimbursements in any circumstances will be made using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction.

For all purchases through the website of custom and/or bespoke items:

  • Such items will only be refunded if faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose.

  • If you wish to seek a refund on such products in such circumstances, you must give written notice via email to redstringbows@gmail.com attaching the original receipt.

  • In this instance, the return postage will be arranged and paid for by RedStingBows. You will also be reimbursed for any postage costs paid when the original order was placed.
